Platinum Pen first produced and launched the original cartridge type carbon black ink in February 1990 to meet needs for a longer-lasting product and based on the concept of “jet-black ink.” Users still praise the ink for having one of the most intense black colors. However, to cater for people that no longer used the cartridge type fountain pen instead of a nib pen, Platinum Pen launched the Platinum Carbon Black Desk Fountain Pen. This pen has been used exclusively with carbon ink.
Platinum Carbon ink in Black is a quick-drying ink which provides excellent water resistance. While we recommend regular cleaning with any carbon or pigmented inks, we have found this to be very safe for regular usage.
