This is a set of 5 primary colors in 20ml tubes. Holbein Primary Colors offer excellent handling qualities, very high chroma, superlative hues and exceptional lightfastness. Since the density and the handling characteristics are well balanced, mixing two of these colors equally will produce secondary colors easily. Mixing three of these colors equally will produce black and dark grey. Producing a comprehensive grey scale has never been easier.

Holbein has also created a Primary Black and Primary White. These two colors have been produced because, unlike Ivory Black and Permanent White, they offer the same specific gravity as the other three Primary Colors. The result is a set that will produce colors identical in volume and weight when mixed together.

Holbein Acryla Gouache is a fast-drying, opaque acrylic based watercolor paint. It moves, reacts, blends and feels like traditional gum arabic gouache. It is water soluble while wet, and water-resistant once dry, matte and opaque, even over dark surfaces.

Holbein Acryla Gouache is great for grounds and layering. It is compatible with all water-soluble media and possesses excellent light resistance.

Drying to a velvet matte finish; Holbein Acryla Gouache does not shift in color tone from liquid to dry color. What you see wet is what you get once dry.

Holbein Acryla Gouache does not have the same fragile surface as traditional gouache in gum arabic and is compatible with all other water soluble media regardless of origin. An ideal medium for hobbyist and bird carvers as well.
