Thar Chandran Zine // Tales of Hearth and Home

Tales of Hearth and Home is a cozy compilation of stories, recipes and illustrations about learning to appreciate food, how it moulds and weaves its intricate threads in every facet of our lives. It began as a passion project and took 5 years to complete. Illustrated and written by Thar Chandran.

From the author:

In 2018, I took a 3 year deep dive into a vegan lifestyle, with hopes of seeking answers within and finding my purpose in life. I believed that abstaining from animal products
would give me the mental clarity and fortitude to lead a better life, which unfortunately did not work out as planned. However, it taught me something much more valuable - that learning is a lifelong journey, not just from mistakes, but also from the ingredients, the process, the stories we share, and the people who came together to make the dish what it is today.

• A step-by-step tutorial on how I approach each painting
