Kyo-No-Oto and Kyo-Iro fountain pen inks are made in Kyoto, Japan using traditional dyeing techniques. The colours are inspired by famous and fascinating places in Kyoto which are the expression of its rich history and profound culture for a long time.

Ruriiro is a bright blue ink with a purple tinge and a silver flake shimmer, translated it means lapis lazuli. Originally, Ruri was a jewel produced on Mt. Meru, which rises in the centre of the Buddhist world, and is one of the seven treasures of Buddhism. The lapis lazuli colour associated with the colour of the jewel was also sacred as the supreme colour.

Ryokuyuiro is a deep green ink with a silver flake shimmer, translated it means green glaze and was used to produce green colours in pottery. In Japan, it was produced since Heian period and was used mainly for nobles.

Silver flake, being a solid residue, will sink to the bottle of the bottle if unused - simply shake well to rejuvenate. Due to the sedimentary nature of this product we do not recommend you leave in your fountain pen for prolonged periods of non-use and do not recommend for use in vintage fountain pens with fine feed systems.
