Jacktus is an illustrator whose creations cover a wide range of interests. His current projects include his signature Malaysian Kopitiam Series postcards & stickers, Malaysian houses foldable postcards, and his succulent illustrations.
The Malaysian Kopitiam Series started out as a documentary of the traditional versus modern local coffee shops, and slowly transformed into illustrations of everything we like about our local kopitiam culture. Painted with watercolor & various mixed media, the Kopitiam Series depicts the little local elements that are very common but often missed. Such examples are the "Jom Yamcha" hangout invitation, "What to Eat" daily dilemma, and the iconic old Mercedes taxi.
Besides normal postcards and stickers, Jacktus's Malaysian art also featured a series of "3D" postcards that can be cut and folded into miniature houses. Inspired by his childhood toys and kampung, Jacktus hopes to reintroduce the reminiscence of the kampung life through art and stationery.
Lastly, as a succulent hobbyist, Jacktus loves painting his mascot living life in an imaginary succulent world. He is looking to create more succulent-related artworks in the future, hoping to introduce these quirky little plants to more people.
