Jacques Herbin’s 1670 Anniversary Series of inks are all gold shimmering inks.

Choose from these five Jacques Herbin 1670 Anniversary Inks in 10ml bottles. Each glass bottle features a hand-dipped wax seal cap.

Rouge Hématite
Scarlet red, pulling, thanks to its golden glitter,slightly on the brown, Hematite Red ink is intense and powerful in order to bring majesty and elegance to writing. It evoques the color of the wax that was before used to seal royal edicts

Gris Orage
Stormy Gray is a dark colour, speckled with golden sparks which give to this tint depth and relief. It recalls the intensity of lightning on the ocean when the merchant ships, including the one of the Herbin House, were tossed by the waves.

Emeraude de Chivor
Emerald of Chivor, a bluish tint with green highlights, obtained thanks to the twinkling of its golden glitter, shines brightly for an ever renewed pleasure of writing. The most famous emeralds known to have a particularly sparkling beauty date from the time of the conquistadors and come from the Chivor mines in Colombia.

Bleu Océan
Blue Ocean ink, a deep and dense color, is majestic owing to its golden glitter sparkling with a million lights. It is a tribute to the color of the sea dear to the navigator Herbin during his various trips.

Caroube de Chypre
The intense brown of the Carob of Cyprus ink is splattered with flame-like colour reflections to give shine to its various writings. Carob is grown in many countries, including Cyprus, where it was formerly called "black gold" as, according to legend, its therapeutic virtues allowed people consuming it to reach a very old age.

The 1670 Collection celebrates the rich life and adventures of J. Herbin, an enterprising French sailor of the mid-17th century. He made a number of voyages to India, collecting ingredients and formulas for his sealing wax and inks. He began making pen inks in his Paris workshop beginning in 1700 with the "Ink of Ships" and the "Jewel of Inks."

Today, Herbin inks are widely used and internationally renown.

Due to the amount of particulate in this ink used to achieve the sparking look, you may experience restricted ink flow in some of your pens. We recommend shaking the ink thoroughly before filling and gently rolling the pen in your hands often to keep the shimmer effect consistent. This will also help prevent clogging. You will also want to be diligent about cleaning and maintaining your pen when using this ink. If your pen is inactive for a while, we recommend you to empty and clean it.
