To celebrate the 340th anniversary of the founding of J. Herbin, we introduced a new color, "Rouge Hematite," especially made for this event.
Scarlet red, pulling, thanks to its golden glitter, slightly on the brown, Hematite Red ink is intense and powerful in order to bring majesty and elegance to writing. It evoques the color of the wax that was before used to seal royal edicts.
The sealing wax on the bottle is reminiscent of the Herbin wax used for the "grand cru" wines of France.
The design on the box represents the life of J. Herbin. The ship, anchor and palm tree represent navigation and discovery. The crown is a reference to the red sealing wax used by the royal court.
Disclaimer; This ink is for pens, never mix this ink with another. Before filling ink pot or fountain pen, rinse thoroughly. Shake the bottle well before filling the writing instrument for best results. If your pen is inactive for a while, we recommend you might want to empty and clean it.
The 1670 Collection celebrates the rich life and adventures of J. Herbin, an enterprising French sailor of the mid-17th century. He made a number of voyages to India, collecting ingredients and formulas for his sealing wax and inks. He began making pen inks in his Paris workshop beginning in 1700 with the "Ink of Ships" and the "Jewel of Inks."
Today, Herbin inks are widely used and internationally renown.
