Gillott drawing pens are used for copperplate writing by both professionals and beginners as they require more pressure to create the swells, stiffer nibs are easier to control. Thicker hairlines than others, making it a good choice for work for reproduction. The Gillott 404 nib provides a fine hairline but is not as fragile as the 303 and 170 size nibs. Suitable for medium x-heights.
Can be used with a Speedball Oblique Penholder, Adjusted Oblique Plastic Holder with Metal Flange or the Brause Straight Holder.
The nib will have an invisible protective serum on it to keep it from rusting. Please remove this before use, by dipping the nib in soapy warm water and rubbing off the film.
