Shitajiki Pencil Board

A "shitajiki" is a flexible plastic writing board, or pencil board, that you place under a sheet of writing paper. It provides a smooth writing surface and prevents marking or denting the pages underneath.

The pencil board makes writing while standing easier as it provides a stiff surface and can also be used as a bookmark to instantly open to a certain page, or as a straight edge for drawing straight lines.
